About Laura
I am currently a Masters student at the University of Western Australia in Perth studying Biological Sciences with a specialisation in Zoology. Previously I have taught science, including zoology, earth/environmental science, and biology, at the secondary level for 4.5 years. I have a valid teaching license for the state of North Carolina in the United States to teach science to grades 9-12. Before that, I received my Bachelors degree in Biology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

I provide lessons on the subject of zoology to students of various ages and backgrounds. My lessons are structured where I discuss the characteristics of the different Phyla in the Animal Kingdom with an underlying context of taxonomy and phylogeny. Lessons will be presented through Webcam. I am experienced in teaching 12th grade students, so my lessons are typically geared towards high school upperclassmen and undergraduate students. I believe that students are curious and willing to learn, the content just needs to be made engaging and accessible.
