About Hoang Son

Think of me as a friend you're studying with, which is pretty much why I wanted to become a tutor. I helped a friend finish their Certificate 3 and currently helping a friend prepare for the GED. I'll chat and make jokes but I care about your future so I will never lose sight of your goals, as a friend should. I don't believe that I am above anyone. If I say something that doesn't sound right and you spot it, don't hesitate to point it out and we'll discuss it. That's real learning too. In general, expect a chill atmosphere.

About the lesson

I intend to tutor year 11 and 12 ATAR. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science and a Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education so I have deep knowledge in a range of sub-topics in Biology but also the skills to break it down into an easy-to-digest form. I will follow the SCSA syllabus but if you have identified an area you are not confident in then we will focus on that. I am big on asking the right questions, because I believe you already have the right answers. I've never really liked how teachers just dumped information and then how we just crammed like in my time in high school. I liken my methodology to learning through play. I want to pose fun puzzles and give you all the tools to create your own reasoning and understanding. That's how you really learn, and those critical thinking skills carry over to much more later in life. I don't have a strict length for lessons though 3-4 hours is near the max. My vision is to have a goal in mind every session and keep going until it is reached. I am usually busy with other jobs too, tutoring is a passion project.
