About Garvika

About Me
Hi! I’m Garvika, a UNSW Co-op Scholar studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), and I genuinely enjoy helping students learn, improve and become more confident in themselves.
Throughout high school, I achieved School Rank 1 in Engineering Studies, School Rank 2 in Business Studies and State Rank 3 in Hindi Continuers, as well as Band 6 results in Business Studies and English Advanced. I’ve also gained hands-on experience tutoring Mathematics, English, Science and Business Studies, as well as teaching public speaking and communication skills.
I want to teach because I know that sometimes a subject can feel difficult simply because it hasn’t been explained in the right way yet. I love finding different ways to explain a concept until it clicks for a student. For me, tutoring is not just about improving marks — it’s about building confidence, developing good study habits and helping students realize what they are capable of.
I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace. Whether you’re looking for help with a specific subject, preparing for an assessment, or simply want to become a more confident student, I’d love to help!

About the lesson

Typical length of a lesson
Lessons are typically 1–2 hours, depending on the student's age, subject and individual needs. Sessions can be adjusted to suit the student's concentration, workload and goals.

My qualifications and experience as a tutor
I am a UNSW Co-op Scholar studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) with an 85.8 WAM. During high school, I achieved School Rank 1 in Engineering Studies, School Rank 2 in Business Studies and State Rank 3 in Hindi Continuers, alongside Band 6 results in Business Studies and English Advanced.
I have hands-on tutoring experience across Mathematics, English, Sciences and Business Studies, working with primary and high school students. I also work as a Public Speaking Coach, where I teach students presentation skills, confidence, argument structure and effective communication.
My leadership experience as a Senior Prefect, Peer Support Leader, House Leader and Sports Vice Captain, together with receiving the UNSW Co-op Scholarship, ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award and Rotary Citizenship Award, has further developed my communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills.
