About Yuan

I am a second-year student studying Statistics and TCS at the University of Toronto Mississauga. I have helped fellow students with MAT135 and MAT136 calculus, as well as CSC108 and CSC148 computer science. Since September 2026, I have participated in CSSA volunteer teaching activities, covering most of the material in MAT135 and CSC108.

I can teach fluently in English and also offer lessons in Mandarin. I enjoy breaking mathematical ideas into smaller, understandable steps and explaining why each step works. My aim is to help you build a solid foundation and become more confident solving problems on your own.

About the lesson

My online lessons focus on introductory calculus, including limits, derivatives, and basic integration. They are designed for students beginning calculus or reviewing the foundations of a first-year course.

We will start with the specific concept or problem you find difficult, review the necessary background, and work through an example together. You will then try a similar problem with guidance so we can identify what still needs practice. I explain both the steps and why they work, and I adapt the pace to your current understanding.

Before each lesson, please share the topics you want to cover so I can prepare relevant examples. Lessons support your learning and independent work; I do not complete graded assignments or exams on your behalf.
