About Suzanna
Hi, my name is Suzanna but most people call me Suzi. I have recently completed A levels and am starting a bachelor's degree in photography at the University of the Arts London. For my A levels, I chose English Language and Literature, Geography and Photography as well as completing an EPQ in art.
Teaching photography to young secondary school students made it clear how differently they responded to a younger person rather than an adult. I think it is helpful for students to receive help and advice on their studies from a different perspective as well as the one they get from their teachers; from someone who has been through almost exactly the same experience as them allowing them to relate to their tutor better.

I will be tutoring in geography, at both GCSE and A level. To create the best outcomes possible I will follow the syllabus of the student making sure to cover every part in comprehensively whilst also giving aid with answering exam questions and employing methods I used when I was studying that led to success. Depending on the students learning style I would tailor the sessions to suit their preferences for example, for visual learners, I would make sure to use colour codes and diagrams (where necessary). A good way to consolidate knowledge is also through testing which I would do in an entertaining and engaging way such as through quizzes. When preparing exam questions it is crucial to look at the mark scheme which I will ensure my students know inside out to ensure they know what they need to succeed in the subject. When looking at exam questions I will break them down into steps to make them understandable and less overwhelming.
During my A level studies I taught photography in Year 7-9 afterschool clubs. This gave me an insight into teaching which appealed to me as I love helping students to find and refine their interests and, as photography isn't usually a subject taught, it gave them a chance to explore their creativity in a new way.
Regarding the exam board and syllabuses, I studied at school, I have an excellent understanding of the curriculum. For my GCSE geography course I did the AQA syllabus but for Alevel I did the Edexel one so have a knowledge of how these exam boards operate in term of assessment.
Recommendations
Recommendations are written by the tutor's friends, family, and acquaintances.
When she was an A level student, Suzanna formed, organised and led an after school photography group for Key Stage Three students. She was brilliant! She built up great professional relationships with all the students and staff that she worked with and was enthusiastic and inspiring. She was well organised, effective and knowledgeable.
In the past I have co- taught with Suzanna who I highly recommend. Tutoring and teaching comes naturally to Suzanna. She has a confident, open, approachable personality which allows pupils to feel comfortable in their learning environment and she builds a rapport with them quickly. With her teaching style Suzanna uses questioning to help pupils develop and strengthen their understanding making sure pupils can be the best they can possibly be. Further to this Suzanna helps to rectify pupils misconceptions easily and leads them on to the correct pathway. I believe that with her welcoming personality and her wealth of knowledge that Suzanna would be a great tutor.
