About Sarah
My Background: I studied GCSEs and A Levels at one of the top grammar in Birmingham, achieving outstanding results. I am now studying Dentistry at University of Birmingham. I have an A Level in Spanish and continued studying Spanish at a high level in university, alongside my course.
Experience teaching Spanish: I have previously taught GCSE students on a weekly basis, all of which achieved top grades (including grade 9). We covered speaking, reading, writing and grammar skills across the various topics of the curriculum.
Experience in Education: I have also worked at a maths and English tuition centre for one and a half years, which gave me further experience in teaching and explaining concepts to students. I have also mentored many students with their application to Dentistry.

My teaching method depends on the area being tacked:
Grammar: “Verb of the week”- this has proven to be the most effective technique to learn conjugations of verbs in several tenses with my previous students. Each week, I give the student a new verb to learn the conjugations of for the following week, where they will be briefly tested. This enables them to rapidly conjugate the most common and useful verbs, therefore helping them massively in speaking and writing.
Vocabulary: I go through new vocabulary from reading texts, and provide vocabulary lists on the various topics of the curriculum
Writing: Discuss and provide students with high-level phrases they can integrate in their writing to boost their grades
Speaking: Conversation and picture-card practice with feedback.
Will also happily look at written pieces of writing and provide feedback for improvements.
