About Bernhard
I studied Classical Percussion at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) and have performed extensively within Vienna’s rich musical tradition, including appearances with the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Volksoper.
My professional experience also includes international concert tours throughout Europe and Asia, as well as performances with symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, wind bands, brass bands, musical theater productions, and many other ensembles.
Alongside my classical work, I have performed as a drummer in styles including rock, pop, Latin, and folk. I am also active as a film composer.

About the lesson:
My teaching method and techniques A solid foundation is the key to becoming a confident musician. Lessons begin with classical snare drum, developing technique, timing, rhythm, coordination, and music reading. As your skills grow, we move on to the drum set and explore styles such as rock, pop, funk, jazz, and Latin. Lessons can also include marimba, vibraphone, timpani, and other percussion instruments.
A typical lesson:
Every lesson is adapted to your level and goals and may include: Technical warm-ups Stick control and coordination Rhythm, counting, and sight-reading Groove, timing, and musical feel Style-specific repertoire Practice strategies and individual feedback

With over 17 years of teaching experience in public music schools and private lessons, I combine Vienna's rich musical tradition with extensive professional performing experience. I also prepare students for conservatory, university, and professional orchestra auditions. My goal is not only to teach you what to play, but to help you understand why it works—because understanding music is the foundation of lasting progress.

Lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to advanced players. I also offer specialized preparation for conservatory and university entrance auditions, as well as professional orchestra auditions.
