About Caroline
I am an amateur potter, backyard gardener, backpacker, and lover of the natural world. I graduated with distinction with a double major from the University of Michigan (Ecology and Environment) in 2014. During my time there, I participated in study groups for Organic Chemistry, Statistics, and Biology. I have taken the GRE twice, and understand the importance of a good study system, and a helping hand. I have also completed a National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) course and take pride in helping others learn and grow!

I would like to help high school students or young college students looking for help with math and science courses. I like to establish the student's personal goals for the tutoring period, and continually check in on progress and their sense of improvement throughout the process. Lessons will be structured to cover the basics needed, provide depth in each "challenge" area, and extra attention to subjects and themes that the student finds more complex. I have learned best when I was asked to take ownership of my knowledge and teach another person a subject that was learning. I think this system works powerfully well, and I would encourage students to explain their reasoning and methods to me as we proceed, in essence, "teaching" me what they have learned, and helping it stick.
