About Alex
I am a current third year history student and have wanted to study history since I was a kid. I intend to continue studying history as an MA and hopefully beyond.
At the University of Manchester I am a Student Ambassador for history which means I represent the subject at important events and use my passion to inspire prospective students.
Although Early Modern English history is my speciality - my dissertation centres around the English Revolution - I am knowledgeable on a variety of topics, particularly modern English, European history and the Cold War which I studied at A Level, gaining a grade A. I also achieved A* in Economics and A in Spanish.
I have experience with both AQA and Edexcel exam boards and am happy to research OCR if required.
I have a Basic DBS Check dated from 12th July 2022.

Passing exams is the key to obtaining a qualification and as such my lessons are mostly focused on exam technique - particularly essay structure and learning key facts.
However I also believe that learning is most effective when it's enjoyable so I use fun activities to help boost students' knowledge and a GCSE/A level lesson with me would be no longer than an hour to ensure students aren't overworked.
