About Jamil
I am a medical student at the University of Edinburgh with a strong academic background in mathematics and sciences. I achieved 10 GCSEs, five Higher A grades, and Advanced Higher grades of A in Biology and A in Chemistry.
I specialise exclusively in tutoring Higher Maths, helping students build confidence, master problem-solving techniques, and improve exam performance. Whether you are struggling with key topics or aiming for top grades, I tailor every lesson to your pace and learning style.
My sessions are one-to-one and delivered online using handwritten worked examples on an iPad so students can clearly follow each step. I focus heavily on exam-style questions and clear, structured methods.

Lessons are delivered one-to-one online via Google Meet, with all explanations written live on an iPad so students can clearly follow every step and keep notes afterwards. I focus exclusively on Higher Maths and structure sessions around the SQA course content and exam-style questions.
Each lesson usually begins with a short review of previous work and any difficulties, followed by teaching new material through worked examples and guided practice. We then apply these methods to challenging questions together before setting focused tasks to consolidate learning.
I adapt my teaching style to every student, moving at a comfortable pace while pushing understanding and accuracy. My aim is not only to improve marks, but to build confidence and independent problem-solving skills ahead of assessments and final exams.
