About Eleanor
I was born and raised in London, and from an early age developed a passion for studying History, English and Drama. I completed my A-Levels at Godolphin & Latymer and went on to study History at the University of Edinburgh, where I graduated in 2006 with an M.A. Hons First Class. Over the last twelve years I've developed significant skills and experience working with text and guiding others through material in my professional work as a Theatre Director. I trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and the National Theatre Studio. My work includes productions at Shakespeare's Globe, The Almeida and Bath Theatre Royal. In 2019 I made my Shakespeare directorial debut with a radical retelling of King John for the Royal Shakespeare Company, which has been filmed for cinematic release in 2020. I’ve worked extensively with new writers on developing their texts, both as an independent producer, and through major companies such as HighTide. Through all of this time I have continued to teach. I began as a private tutor in Edinburgh, focusing on History, and throughout my career as a director I’ve worked with a wide range of students in an education and training context, from teenagers in Hong Kong with very little experience of the theatre, to postgraduate students at the Shakespeare Institute and the University of Birmingham. I’ve worked extensively at the UK's major drama schools, including RADA, LAMDA, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, as well as with students at the Royal Academy of Music. I’m a frequent workshop leader and deviser for companies such as W1 and Monobox, leading sessions on devising, audition preparation and communication. I also work frequently as a mentor. In 2020, as a Board member for Stage Directors UK, I initiated a mentoring programme for emerging artists within the industry, which has had a massive uptake. I currently work with three mentees on a regular basis.

Eleanor helped my son work towards his History A-Level last year, as he was finding it difficult to structure his essays well.
