About Gentle
I am a student who has four years experience of tutoring students aged 11-12 in English. I have also undertaken work experience in educational settings and have been involved in a programme supporting GCSE students in developing skills for the English Language GCSE. I like to cater my sessions to the interests of my tutees, such as using analogies of cars to help explain punctuation uses! Depending on what needs most support, the focus of the sessions can vary to nurture specific skills. I tend to focus on a specific book which my tutee is interested in and then expand on different skills from here, such as writing, reading, or creative writing. I have worked with students with dyslexia so I have some knowledge of how to adjust to individual needs.
I am 21 years old and live in Norwich, studying History at the University of Cambridge. I received three A*s in English Literature, Philosophy and History at A level so I have sufficient knowledge to help KS3 level learning. I also received six 9s (A**), three 8s (A*) and one A in Further Maths at GCSE. I have a warm, patient and empathetic personality which means that it is easy to be open with any difficulties experienced! I am also willing to offer support in other areas at KS3 and 4 level (e.g. History, Maths, RE).

I use a combination of tutoring methods including quizzes, fun activities and writing exercises, all with an academic focus. I base my sessions on the interest of my tutees and shape them around their needs. This is combined with a structured and captivating approach to learning.
