About Waad

Hi! I’m an Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Birmingham, a Russell Group university, with a strong passion for Maths and Physics. I achieved grade 9s in both GCSE Maths and Physics and As in both subjects at A-Level, so I understand the work and preparation required to achieve strong results.

Having recently completed GCSEs and A-Levels myself, I still remember how challenging certain topics can feel at first. I know how confusing concepts such as differentiation and integration can seem when you’re first introduced to them, and how much of a difference it makes when someone takes the time to explain them clearly and step by step.

I’m patient, friendly and approachable, and I want my students to feel completely comfortable asking questions when they don’t understand something. There’s no such thing as a “silly” question in my lessons — what matters to me is making sure you genuinely understand why something works rather than simply memorising a method.

One of the things I enjoy most about Maths and Physics is problem-solving. I hope to help students develop the confidence to approach questions that may initially seem difficult or unfamiliar and break them down into manageable steps.

Whether you’re struggling with the foundations, feeling stuck on a particular topic, or already achieving strong grades and aiming even higher, I’ll support you throughout your progress.

Please note that my lessons are currently available to female students only.

Every student learns differently, so my lessons are tailored to your current level, target grade and exam board. My aim is to make difficult Maths and Physics topics easier to understand while helping you develop the exam technique and confidence needed to achieve your best possible grade.

In our first lesson, we’ll identify your strengths and any gaps in your knowledge, discuss what you want to achieve, and create a personalised plan to work towards your goals.

My teaching approach focuses on understanding first, then practice. I break difficult concepts down into clear, manageable steps before working through examples together and gradually moving towards independent exam-style questions. I use past papers, mark schemes, exam-board-specific worksheets, worked examples and videos where helpful. We’ll also look at common mistakes, what examiners are looking for and how to pick up as many marks as possible.

Lessons are typically 1 hour long and are structured around the areas where you need the most support.

I am an Aerospace Engineering student and achieved As in A-Level Maths and Physics, alongside grade 9s in GCSE Maths and Physics. Having recently completed these exams myself, I understand the challenges students face and am familiar with the techniques and preparation needed for them.

I teach GCSE Maths and Physics and A-Level Maths and Physics, from students looking to build their confidence and strengthen the basics to those aiming for the highest grades.
