About Kate
I am a student at the University of Exeter. I have been working with the schools opportunities scheme since the beginning of 2021, allowing students from underfunded schools to receive high quality online tutoring during school closures and through their return to school during this exceptionally difficult time in education. In sixth form, I taught individuals in GCSE sciences in person and since leaving school, I have been teaching small groups online.

I approach my lessons by relating the topic at hand to everyday life and examples that the students can visualise. I establish the student's existing knowledge about similar topics and then explain challenging concepts through visual diagrams, written processes and speaking. I focus particularly on the understanding and use of keywords. During our lessons I aim to build the student's confidence so that they can voice when they may feel confused about but also to articulate what they have learned.
