About Tom
My name is Tom and I am currently a third year medical student at Balliol College Oxford and this is now my fifth year of tutoring experience.
Having worked with pupils from age 10 through to 18, I enjoy teaching A Levels for the chance to reach some genuine depth in the subject, especially Biology.
When I was in year 12, I competed in the International Biology Olympiad for Great Britain, getting a Silver Medal. This was a fantastic experience and would happily mentor any students interested in pursuing the Olympiads.

Biology can be a content heavy and challenging A Level, but it doesn't have to be.
Having sat the exams not so long ago myself (and got an A*), I know what it's like to face Bio A Level. Since then, I have also tutored students to achieve As and A*s in their own exams. I know how to break down the questions and the mark schemes, teach you what you need to know and hopefully keep things interesting along the way.
My lessons are generally an hour long. I like to keep things interactive, and I'm a big fan of the odd biology song wherever relevant. I generally avoid setting homework as I find school keeps you busy enough. During intense periods, I may ask you to do some extras.
