About Julia
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Denver graduating March 2021 with a dual degree in International Studies and Spanish. I have been learning Spanish for nine years in the classroom and also in foreign countries. I studied abroad for five months in Chile living with a Spanish-speaking only family and thriving in that environment. I have tutored friends and peers in Spanish throughout my four years at DU.

I am an incredibly patient and understanding person, as I know and have experienced the difficulties, frustrations and fears that come with learning a foreign language. With that, I base my tutoring off of group work, to encourage students to feel comfortable with one another and not feel "singled out". I love games such as charades and cross-words to master vocabulary. As for grammar and conjugating, I tend to rely on charts, worksheets and third party websites to help. I am very flexible and tend to cater to the student's needs versus my own teaching method so each student receives the adequate help that they need.
