About Sayak

I am a passionate teacher and a lifelong learner with 8 years of cumulative teaching experience and 5 years of teaching experience in psychology. I have a master's degree from the University of Calcutta and have taught more than 50 in-person and online students over the past 3 years. I also qualified the UGC-NET exam with a JRF in the 99.99 percentile. The best part about learning psychology is that you can draw examples from everyday life. I like to draw examples for my students from media that range from current events, movies, TV series, and even anime! In other words, I prefer staying off the beaten track. If you wish to go beyond the bare minimum required to pass and want to take a deep dive into this fascinating subject, let's take the dive together!

About the lesson

So, here's the thing.

You always imagined psychology to be a fun subject, that is until you reached the classroom. The drab lectures, the unimaginative examples, and the rote memorization started getting on your nerves! The notion of fun started slipping away slowly but steadily.

But here's the good thing. It doesn't have to be this way.

In my class, students don't learn by memorization alone. We can't of course entirely avoid memorization, but we can make it interesting.

Throw out the thick books with the boring old lecture material (no, not really) and engage in learning this fascinating subject the way it should be learned. Through stories, discussions, and fun examples. Nothing is off the menu here. Movies, series, books, anime, you name it!

The point is to make learning something you look forward to and not dread like a philosophy class by an ancient bearded man with a wooden staff.

In my class, I use examples from real-world events, pop culture, and everything in between. Good luck trying to forget the concepts after that!

Oh, and an added bonus? My students come up with and share stories and examples of their own. Know what that does? It gives their education a personal touch, something a traditional straight lecture can never provide.
