About Kristina

I have always loved Biology because of how it explains the world. I want to help students develop that same interest while also showing them how to study efficiently and make the most of their revision time.

I am friendly, patient and approachable, and I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that every student learns differently, so I make sure my support is suited to their individual goals and confidence level.

About the lesson

My approach is very specification and exam focused. I work directly from the Biology specification, so students learn exactly what they need to know without spending time on unnecessary content. I also focus on the specific keywords and phrases required by the mark schemes, as Biology mark schemes can be very precise about how an answer needs to be worded.

Lessons are 1 hour and are tailored to each student. I use active recall through quizzes and topic questions, alongside clear PowerPoints to explain key concepts. A large part of the lesson is dedicated to exam-style practice, helping students apply their knowledge and understand how to structure answers to gain marks.

I have also created my own flashcards for each Biology topic, which students can use between lessons for independent revision and active recall. This allows us to spend lesson time focusing on areas that need the most attention rather than simply going over content they already know.

I achieved an A* in A Level Biology and currently study Biology at UCL. I teach A Level and GCSE Biology students of all abilities, whether they are looking to strengthen their understanding, improve their exam technique or achieve the highest grades possible.

What I found most useful about Kristina’s tutoring was how specification-focused and concise her lessons were. She made revision feel much more manageable by focusing on exactly what I needed to know, rather than overwhelming me with extra information. I also really liked her approach to smart revision, especially using active recall and exam questions to make sure I actually remembered and could apply what I had learnt.
