About Elifsu
Hi! My name is Elifsu Altuntas. I am Turkish & 18 years old. I am currently a first year student doing my BSc in Biochemistry at University of St. Andrews. I did my IB at a boarding school, in the south of France. Before that I studied grade 10 in Paris & grade 9 in Toronto, Canada. (All in boarding schools.) So, I am familiar with different curricula (A-Levels, IB, IGCSE, American Diploma, AP), but I would say that I can be the best guide for IB, as I've just taken the May 2022 exams and done the Internal Assessments (IAs).

As teaching experience, I volunteered & taught children (primary), middle schoolers & high schoolers (IGCSE and IB) for 4 years. However, I wasn't getting paid for it thus, ı would not consider it as a "formal teaching experience". The reason for me to start teaching "formally" is basically in order to make my pocket money and decrease the financial pressure on my parents. However, I also know how it is to be the student, struggling to understand & keep up. I think that for my students it truly improves the quality of the lesson & allows them to ask questions more freely to know that I was "one of them" not too long ago. If you are not sure whether you would like to book a lesson or not, just get a trial lesson which is 45 minutes (for half of the normal lesson price). In this introduction session we can to discuss your expectations from me, the specific sub-topics you need help with and I can also explain my teaching style, the materials I will provide, such as past papers, pdfs of the books I use, and you can ask me any questions if you have any.
