About Ramin

Hi! My name is Ramin, and I am 3rd year Electrical Engineering student at UCLA. I speak English, Farsi, a little German, and understand some Hebrew! I have been tutoring my peers professionally at my local community college since three years ago and have hosted a few lectures for various physics (electromagnetism) courses as well!

About the lesson

The sciences should be taught ground up, and that is why I try to find the weak points and gaps in my student's knowledge and address them so they can fully understand a more abstract topic of study.

My lessons include an opening, which involves checking in with my students. We then discuss topics and chapters that need to be addressed (e.g., due to an exam or to grasp concepts better). Then I go over some background concepts (you can think of it as a mini-lecture, but I promise it's not dull!) either by referring to material from my student's class or using online resources, and finally conclude by applying everything to problem sets and gauging how well my student has progressed.

I am committed to clarity and comprehension in my lessons. I do not believe that one can learn by doing loads and loads of problems; instead, my goal is to strengthen my students in all aspects necessary to excel in their studies by bridging the knowledge gap AND doing constructive problem sets.

The lessons suit anyone doing college prep or attending college/university!

It was a pleasure meeting you guys! Sophia is a great student (and she can do arithmetic pretty quickly in her head, something I always wished I could do!). With a bit more practice and exposure to different types of problems, I am sure she’ll be ready to ace her exams.
