About Dr A E

I have taught students aged 11-18 from all different backgrounds and of all abilities over a period of 20 years. I have also taught primary school pupils and have an interest in basic literacy and maths.
I believe in tailoring tuition to each student's needs and learning styles.

About the lesson

I use a variety of teaching methodologies depending on the age and learning style of the student and subject being taught.
Each lesson needs to have a clear objective and outcome which is communicated to the student at the beginning of the lesson.
I also believe strongly that a teacher/tutor needs to constantly check that what they think they have taught has actually been learned before moving on. I am not afraid to re-teach where necessary as moving on without ensuring a student has mastered what they have been taught can result in patchy and incomplete understanding of the subject.
