About Scott
Scott Essman was born and raised on Long Island, New York, though his first home was the army base in Fort Totten, Queens, New York from 1966 to 1968 where his father, an internist, was a base doctor. After high school graduation in 1984, Scott Essman studied psychology at Hobart College before transferring to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1986 where he received his BA in 1989. Mr. Essman has been teaching diverse groups of higher educational students in the Greater Los Angeles area since 1990 when he began as an English tutor. Since 2004, when he received his MA in education, he has taught business skills, mass media, filmmaking, film appreciation, screenwriting, directing, digital video editing, music business, art appreciation, and sociology at a group of colleges and universities, including The Art Institute of California—Orange County, California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, Pathways College, Pacific Oaks College, and others, all at the collegiate level.
