About Ben
I started giving lessons at my local music academy in 2016, which I built up to 20 private pupils over the course of 2 years. Whilst at the academy I also ventured into primary schools providing a range of lessons, from whole class peri work, to group lessons from years 2 and up. In 2019 I was appointed as the Brass tutor at Runshaw sixth form college, where I prepared students for their conservatoire/university auditions, of which my pupils gained places at Universities such as Salford, Huddersfield and the RNCM.
I am currently studying Classical Trumpet and this is where my expertise lie. Having grown up playing brass bands I have an extensive background in brass playing. Over the years I have played for some of the worlds top brass bands including: Black Dyke Band and Leyland Band.
As well as the Classical side I also regularly gig with function bands and immerse myself regularly in the commercial/pop side of Trumpet playing, something I can also offer guidance with.

I currently give lessons to all ages of people, from primary school children all the way up to people in their 80s giving a new hobby a go!
I structure my lessons in a fun way, and it's all about what you want to play and get out of the lessons. If you are struggling on the technical sides of playing we can work on exercises for this, or if you are interested in Grades I have experience with putting pupils in for these. Whilst at my last teaching post I had a 100% pass rate with pupils.
