About Laura

I am a trainee solicitor who has recently qualified with a masters in law. I completed speech and drama up until grade 7 and received distinctions in all grades. I received A*, A, A in my A-levels. I have previous experience tutoring English as a volunteer with actiontutoring and have privately tutored various students of all different ages and backgrounds

About the lesson

I like to be well structured and organised. Therefore, I base my classes on a weekly schedule. I begin by teaching the information, this usually involves a PowerPoint slide or pages with information on them. I then like to ask questions in the form of flashcards to gauge how much the student has taken in. I follow up with activities to consolidate the information. I will then begin the next lesson with questions based off the last lesson they were taught to ensure the information has really gone in.

Perfect! Laura clearly knows her subject matter and is keen to get the best out of her students. This is evident in the setting of weekly homework, ensuring that her students remain committed and focused in between lessons. Her real strength is coaching her students to understand what is required to maximise marks for any given question. She has a strong framework that she encourages students to use to meet the expectations of the examiners. Highly recommended.

She has a good understanding of spoken English and is a very well mannered child. She takes in knowledge very quickly and responds to instructions well. We need to work on spelling, prepositions and reading.
