My name is Megan O’Shea, and I am a UK-trained Primary School Teacher with experience teaching and supporting children across KS1 and KS2.
My tutoring approach is calm, structured and confidence-building. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, supported and understood. Each session is tailored to the child’s individual needs and learning style, with clear explanations, step-by-step teaching and plenty of encouragement.
For English, I support phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, spelling and writing. I use practical strategies such as guided reading, modelling, questioning and short focused tasks to build understanding and confidence.
For Maths, I focus on developing strong number sense and understanding rather than rote learning. I support areas such as place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, times tables and problem-solving, using visual models and clear methods aligned with the UK curriculum.
A typical lesson lasts 45–60 minutes, depending on the child’s age, attention span and needs. Sessions usually include a short recap, focused teaching, guided practice and time to reinforce learning.
My lessons are suitable for EYFS, KS1 and Lower KS2 pupils (Years 2 - 6) particularly children who need extra support, confidence-building or personalised 1:1 tuition.
