About Gabriel

Gabriel MacWilliams is an accomplished music educator and performer dedicated to excellence in percussion performance and education. He currently serves as the percussion instructor at South Central High School, Brookside High School, Orange Middle School, and Old Trail Middle School. Previously, he taught at Western Brown High School and Huntington High School. At each of these schools, Gabriel directs and composes for their drumlines, works with concert percussion ensembles, and provides private percussion instruction. His students consistently achieve top ratings; every student he has taught has achieved among the highest Level I or II ratings at Solo and Ensemble events. At the middle school level, Gabriel leads percussion classes and private lessons, inspiring younger musicians to develop strong foundational skills and a lifelong appreciation for music. As a performer, Gabriel has been a member of the NFL Buffalo Bills Drumline since 2014 and continues to perform actively with the group. He also performed with the Cleveland Browns Drumline during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. His marching experience extends to DCA Drum Corps, where he has earned five I&E World Title medals. Outside of the marching arts, Gabriel performs drum set with the band The Besides, showcasing his versatility across musical genres. Gabriel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Percussion Performance. During his academic career, he performed with wind ensemble, percussion ensemble, orchestra, steel band, African ensemble, jazz band, pep band, and marching band, and was a two-time concert-featured concerto soloist winner. Driven by a passion for growth and excellence, Gabriel MacWilliams continuously seeks new opportunities to expand his craft as both a performer and educator, striving to inspire the next generation of percussionists through his dedication and artistry.

About the lesson

Students that have taken lessons from me in the past have always shown great improvement in their abilities and have all achieved their musical goals. I can teach students of all ages. Beginning, advanced, college prep and college students in many different aspects of percussion. My lessons will always start at where the student is at, and each one will build off of the previous to improve the student's ability.
