About Tess
With five years of tutoring experience and an MSc in Supramolecular Chemistry, I specialize in materials science. I enjoy exploring polymers, composites, and nanomaterials with students, showing how chemistry drives real-world advances. Case studies on plastics, carbon fiber, and nanoscale coatings make lessons relevant and exciting. Students learn how structure at the molecular level determines properties like strength, flexibility, or conductivity. This approach helps them connect theory to application. My sessions are interactive, often built around discussion and problem-solving. I adapt my teaching to different learning styles and levels of confidence. I encourage curiosity, helping students ask why materials behave the way they do. Over time, learners gain both knowledge and confidence. I see chemistry as a creative science that shapes the modern world. Together, we can explore its role in building future materials.

I approach Chemistry tutoring with structure, clarity, and encouragement. My focus is AP Chemistry preparation, but the skills we build go further. I explain theories step by step, then strengthen them with targeted drills. Practice tests are a central part of my sessions, giving students real exam experience. Complex problem-solving is practiced frequently until it becomes familiar. I also include experimental analysis, training students to connect data with theory. This builds deeper reasoning and understanding. My lessons are interactive and flexible, adapting to different needs. I encourage curiosity and reward persistence. Progress is made visible through steady review and practice. Students often gain confidence after mastering areas they once found difficult. I believe success comes from preparation and patience. Together, we’ll build the skills and confidence needed for exam day.
