About OMAR FARUK
"Hello everyone. My name is Omar Faruk Mir.
I hold an M.Sc. in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University, where I spent years not just memorizing reactions, but learning to think like a chemist—to question, to verify, and to see the invisible world of atoms and molecules.
So why do I want to share this knowledge with you?
Because I know chemistry gets a reputation. Difficult. Abstract. Full of symbols that look like another language. And yes—it can be challenging. But here's what I also know: chemistry is the science of why.
· Why does food cook? Chemistry.
· Why do medicines work? Chemistry.
· Why do batteries die, or fireworks explode, or ice float on water? Chemistry.
I am not here to make you memorize the periodic table for a test. I am here to teach you how to observe, predict, and solve problems—skills you will use long after you forget the formula for molarity.
I chose to teach because I had teachers who made me feel that chemistry was possible for someone like me. And now, I want to be that person for you. I will not pretend it's always easy. But I promise: I will break it down, I will listen to your confusion, and I will never make you feel small for asking a question.
By the end of our time together, you may not all become chemists. But you will see the world differently. And you will know that you are capable of understanding something complex.
That is why I share my knowledge. That is who I am. Let's begin."

As a fellow chemistry educator, I know our subject can feel like a foreign language to students. Here’s my approach to making it accessible, rigorous, and even enjoyable.
My Teaching Techniques & Methods:-
· Conceptual layering:- Never assume prior knowledge. I start with concrete, macroscopic observations (e.g., a fizzing reaction), then build to particulate models (atoms/molecules), and finally introduce symbolic representations (formulas/equations). This “macro-micro-symbolic” triad is my anchor.
· Guided inquiry & discrepant events:-
I pose puzzles before giving answers. “If I put this glowing splint into the test tube, what do you predict will happen—and why?” Mistakes become data for learning, not failures.
· Scaffolded problem-solving: For stoichiometry or equilibrium problems, I use the “I do, we do, you do” method with color-coded steps. No silent, one-demonstration-fits-all.
