About Noah
Hi! I'm Noah and I am entering my third year at Oxford, studying PPE. I have extensive tutoring experience, having mentored several students through A Level and GCSE examinations and worked in a school for two years. This has involved co-leading a programme providing personal statement help, mock interviews, and building a relationship with our students in which they feel supported and comfortable to express their ideas. I have found this experience extremely rewarding, and I hope that will be reflected in our lessons too! I am well placed to tutor for History and Politics A Level, having achieved A*s in these subjects, and ranking 3rd in my year at Oxford in my first-year Politics examination. I also offer admissions tutoring for PPE and similar courses - I ranked 7th of over 2,000 applicants for the TSA admissions test in 2022, so I am particularly able to provide tutoring for that test. I believe that my experience and passion for the subjects I cover will enable both of us to get the most out of our lessons together. Outside of teaching and university study, I spend most of my time playing every sport under the sun, including cricket and football for my college, and hockey for the university.

My university studies and previous tutoring work have greatly informed my teaching style. I believe that tutoring should be as much about giving students confidence to express their thoughts and ideas, and therefore engage deeply with the content being studied, as about the content itself. Therefore, I try and emphasise the equality of tutor and student - rather than lecturing students on a topic, I think both of us will get more out of a lesson framed as a conversation around the topic area. I hope that this will create an environment where students feel able to raise any ideas and concerns they might have about their work, and approach their studies with a greater degree of assurance.
