About Natalia
I am a third year Physics student at King’s College London and I achieved A*A*A* in my maths, further maths and physics A-levels. I only started to enjoy maths in year 10 after achieving one decent grade in an exam- it was the perfect motivation! I want to teach this subject to help students recognise the beauty of maths and it’s genuine simplicity. Once you’ve overcome the idea that *yes* maths is an abstract concept, it becomes second nature to you and it gets easier from there.

My approach is rigorous, thorough and patient. Building a strong foundation through context and written examples is the key to thorough understanding of the subject, and solidifying this with past paper problems and worksheets is what gets you the top mark. I am a very organised and meticulous person and so I plan carefully around a student’s weaknesses and recognise how the student best learns.
My methodology is centred around solving past paper problems on each possible topic and building understanding from there. Students tend to dislike this (especially in a classroom) because it is most challenging and it’s a realisation of where the weaknesses actually lie. I see this as an important learning curve and it pinpoints where pieces of the puzzle are missing.
In each lesson I hope to overcome at least one hurdle and achieve genuine understanding of the topic, not only surface level knowledge. The key to maths is exceptional basic proficiency (not necessarily the ‘hard’ bits) as this tool will allow the student to pick apart any question and apply their own knowledge to it. Because of this, I take extra care to ensure the student actually knows what they’re writing and why they are writing it.
The typical length of a lesson is 1-2hr but it really depends on the student and how long they are fully engaging with the lesson for. A thorough lesson plan can be discussed prior to starting.
