About Alice
I am currently a third-year Pharmacy student with a strong background in Biology and a genuine passion for helping others understand challenging topics. Having studied Biology to a high level myself, I understand the pressures students face at GCSE and A-level and enjoy breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. I find teaching particularly rewarding because I enjoy seeing students grow in confidence as concepts start to click, and I take pride in supporting them as they work towards their academic goals.

My teaching style is structured, supportive, and always tailored to the individual student. I work closely with the student’s exam board specification to make sure everything we cover is directly relevant to their GCSE or A-level Biology course. I am happy to focus on specific topics where extra help is needed, but I often find it most effective to work through the specification from the beginning, identifying and skipping over areas the student already understands well. Lessons are interactive and designed to build confidence as well as understanding. I explain concepts clearly while creating organised, easy-to-follow notes during the lesson, which are then shared with the student to support revision. I regularly ask questions throughout the session to check understanding and encourage active engagement. Each lesson finishes with a short quiz to see what has been learnt, and the next lesson starts with another quiz to check how much information has been retained. This approach helps students become more confident, independent learners, as it allows them to focus their revision on areas they find more challenging rather than revisiting content they already know.
