About Beverley
Hi! I’m a dedicated tutor with over a year of experience helping students from Year 5 to Year 11 succeed in their studies. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in confidence. I start by having open conversations with my students to understand what they’re struggling with and how they learn best. From there, I tailor each session to meet their specific needs. I also make sure we both understand what’s expected from each other, so we can work together effectively and make the most of our time. My sessions are usually an hour long, but I’m flexible and happy to extend if needed. I’ve been tutoring for over a year and have been babysitting since the age of 17, giving me plenty of experience working with children in different settings. These roles have helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with young learners. Whether your child needs help catching up, preparing for exams, or simply boosting their confidence, I’m here to support them every step of the way with professionalism, care, and commitment.

My tutoring style is supportive, personalised, and student-led. I believe that understanding the why behind a student’s struggles is the first step to helping them succeed. I always begin by having an open conversation to identify their strengths, challenges, and goals. From there, I tailor my teaching approach to suit their individual learning style — whether that means breaking down topics into simpler steps, using real-life examples, or providing extra practice and encouragement. I aim to build a relaxed, focused environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as that’s where true learning happens. I also ensure we set clear expectations for each session, so we both know what we’re working towards. Lessons typically last one hour, but I’m flexible and can offer longer sessions when needed — especially around exams or deadlines. I tutor students from Year 5 to Year 11 and have over a year of experience in tutoring. I’ve also been babysitting since I was 17, which has given me strong experience in building trust and communication with young people. My experience helps me connect with students in a way that supports both their academic performance and confidence. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying motivated, or pushing beyond their current level, I adapt each session to meet them where they are and help them get where they want to be.

She is patient, relatable, encouraging & empathetic, but she is also straightforward and honest. She doesn't like to bore you out or do everything for you. She uses active learning to not only help me understand more, but to motivate independent learning and a more happier approach to studying. She breaks down difficult difficult subjects and makes sure I understand it in my own way, not just in her way or the taught way, and no, she will not get annoyed if you need some help and want to go over it again, or you have a question you believe is stupid. She also preps you for exams, as she knows exams are extremely stressful. Beverley, Thank you so much for everything!
My daughter was really struggling with her confidence in Maths and English before we found Beverley. From the very first session, she felt comfortable and supported. Beverley is patient, understanding and knows how to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. We've seen a huge improvement in both her grades and her attitude towards learning. She even looks forward to her tutoring sessions now, which says a lot! I can’t recommend Beverley enough, she's made a real difference.
Beverley has helped me improve my Biology and Chemistry with the tutoring she has provided, her lessons let me develop skills around certain topics such as the carbon cycle, displacement reactions, and atomic structures.
