About Jasmine
I am a writer, musical artist and poet currently in my 4th year at Ryerson University pursuing my undergraduate degree in Professional Communications. I have experience in tutoring for volunteer work and in my personal life with friends and family and aim to continue tutoring during my studies as it inspires me to see growth and a newfound passion in my students.
In my experience, I have brought a student from an average of 70% in their Grade 10 year for Academic English to a 90% in their Grade 12 year for Academic English, working with them for only short sessions every couple of weeks.
I am considerate, kind, and supportive with my students and will work at the students pace. But, I will always aim to push their creative thinking skills above and beyond in order for them to produce work that they are proud of.

Since each student is a unique learner, each class will involve teaching methods that are best suited to improve the students self-confidence, interest, and creative thinking skills, whilst following the academic curriculum of their grade level and preparing them to succeed for the future.
A typical class will follow the flexible teaching style of the 3 D’s:
Direction: The first half of the class will focus on teaching the curriculum to the student whether it is introducing a new concept, a reading or a piece of writing, for their knowledge and understanding. I will employ interactive videos, the whiteboard, slideshows and more.
Discussion: Then, we will openly discuss any questions, concerns or difficulties the student may have and go over them together using examples, role-play and more.
Delegation: We will end the class off with a take-home activity such as a worksheet, assignment or a small project, so each student may apply what they’ve learned and improve their independent work habits.
