I am an optimistic realist. I have been involved in theatre and choir since I was in 6th grade. I have also been a leader in both programs since freshman year of high school and loved the experience and would love to continue doing so. I’m always willing to listen and help if you need it. Theatre training is not only for actors, but it is also of great value to everyone - especially to those who require effective communication skills in order to give presentations, lectures, or speeches. Practical and theoretical theatre experiences provide the tools for presenters and teachers to develop creative teaching strategies that enhance the student learning experience when you are teaching or giving research presentations to colleagues. The workshop includes a combination of mini lecture, active participation, discussion, group and individual activities, with constructive instructor and peer feedback, in a supportive environment. The learning aims and objectives will benefit participants in their teaching, presenting, interviewing, speaking, business, social situations, career development and employability. This is a one-day workshop to develop and practise skills.

. Physical and vocal communication skills for effective speaking, teaching or presentations
.Building confidence
.Developing spontaneity + creativity teaching or speaking in front of an audience or class
.Individual instructor feedback/coaching on brief presentation in front of group
.Creating a supportive classroom learning environment
.Introduction to learning
.Interactive teaching skills practice
.Discussion about active learning strategies applying theatre techniques to motivate listeners, to enhance understanding and, therefore, learning.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
.Know how to present yourself in front of an audience physically and vocally for effective teaching or presenting.
.Apply activities and theatre exercises experienced to express yourself more spontaneously and with confidence.
.Apply an introduction to learning theories to improve or develop creative/interactive teaching skills.
.Understand the importance of interactive teaching for inclusive teaching and learning to students in a classroom, in order to enhance motivation, attendance, long term transfer of learning, and retention.
