About James
I was the oldest of five children to my father, James, an ivy-league educated surgeon and U.S. Army veteran and my mother, Katherine, a gifted artist (Painter, illustrator.Fine and graphic) and teacher.
As an “Army-brat” I was raised in many places, but the Pacific North-West is where I called home.
After high-school I went to New York City to study. I finished my university studies at the University of Southern California. I have a degree in acting and performance and a second full degree (not a ‘double major’) in producing for broadcasting (TV & radio).
Since university I have worked in film production in front of and behind the camera. I have studied at three acting academies and have taught acting, speech, voice and dialects independently and coached these same skills on active film/television productions.
I have been a writer throughout my life and creative writing is a passion of mine.
I draw great comfort in the knowledge that mathematics and the written word will always have a place in the world. No technology exists or will even be developed without mathematics and written communication.

I believe that everyone can learn anything, given a patient instructor and an eager mind. Anyone can learn to sing, anyone can learn to dance, anyone can act, anyone can learn pretty much anything. The trick is to find the “hook” that fits into the students’ mind. As an instructor, it is my job to guide the student to the hook that allows them to grasp the concepts and rules of the subject that they wish to command.
