About Jeanette
My name is Jeanette, and I am a TEFL and ESL certified English tutor with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a genuine passion for helping every learner succeed — especially those who learn differently. In addition to ESL and ELL instruction, I teach ELA and structured phonics using research-based methods grounded in the Science of Reading — including explicit phonics instruction, phonological awareness, and multisensory techniques designed for struggling readers and students with dyslexia.
I have worked with students across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and learning needs, including children and adults who have struggled in traditional settings. I stay current on the most effective, research-informed strategies so that every lesson reflects what actually works for diverse learners.

I believe every learner has a voice worth developing — they just need the right tools and the right teacher to help them find it. My lessons are patient, structured, and built around you, not a one-size-fits-all script.
I hold TEFL and ESL certifications and a Bachelor of Arts degree, and I bring specialized training in AI-supported approaches for diverse learners — including students with learning differences, language delays, and those who have struggled in traditional classroom settings. I also hold badges in AI in Special Education and Generative AI in Special Education, which means I stay current on the most effective, research-informed strategies for learners who need a different approach.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
No two learners are alike, so no two lessons are identical. That said, every session includes a warm-up to activate prior knowledge, a focused skill-building segment in phonics, spelling, or writing, and time for guided practice with real feedback. I build lessons around your pace — not a calendar. Progress matters more than speed.
My Teaching Methods
I use structured literacy techniques, multi-sensory learning strategies, and clear step-by-step instruction. For younger or struggling learners, I incorporate phonics patterns, word families, and spelling rules that actually stick. For writing, I focus on building confidence first, then clarity, then mechanics — in that order.
