• 1) When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  As a child, I always felt drawn to singing and music. This interest grew the more I would sing for my family and friends. It then deepened further once I began formal training in voice, piano and music theory because I could then properly know how to use my voice to the best of my ability. The reason I love singing is because it is so captivating and can bring about so many emotions. It is a type of universal "language" that can connect people together.

• 2) What makes you passionate about your subject?

  I am passionate about singing because I believe it can transform people. I have seen students go from being hesitant and unsure to confident and expressive. While technique is important in singing, it is not the only thing that makes up this art form. Singing is about storytelling, emotions and self expression. I strongly believe that singing is a skill that can be developed with the right guidance because I have witnessed it first hand through being a coach. Helping students discover their voice and potential is what drives me.

• 3) What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  What I enjoy about being a vocal coach is when I get to witness the moment something "clicks" for a student. Every student learns differently, so I value adapting my teaching style to fit their needs and goals.
  
  What makes me a "SuperProf" is my combination of formal technical training and performance experience at various different events like TEDx and the CNE. It is very fulfilling to see my students improve and also recognize their own improvement. I hope to always create a supportive environment where my students feel comfortable growing and challenging themselves.

• 4) Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  Someone who inspires me is Andra Day, a singer and songwriter known for her powerful voice, authenticity and perseverance. I admire how she built her career through hard work and resilience despite facing setbacks earlier on. What inspires me most is her ability to connect emotion and storytelling through music, reminding me that great artists are not only skilled with the right techniques but also passionate about their craft.

• 5) What are your keys to success?

  My keys to success are discipline, consistency and passion. I like to think of singing like a sport, improvement comes through regular practice, repetition, and dedication over time. After all, you are training your muscles such as the diaphragm and strengthening vocal control, endurance and technique. Just like athletes, singers need to practice consistently to see growth. I believe patience, hard work and a willingness to keep learning are what truly lead to success in music.
