About Maia

I am on a gap year before I attend university. I intend to study history and politics, I also have a background in English Literature A-Level and GCSE if needed. I plan to keep this throughout university! I realise the education system only really caters towards a certain demographic of students and I feel this is ridiculous, everyone learns differently and subjects should be taught differently based on students' approaches. I believe that encouragement and praise is important and I hope to not only improve skills in your chosen subject but also boost your confidence - I always say confidence makes up 40% of your grade. I am very passionate about education, I even aspire to be minister of education in the future. I am aware of how it may disadvantage some students but I plan to help you combat this. I really want to target confidence levels and rebuild that foundation of trust within yourself as everyone is able to achieve top grades - it truly is all about your mindset!

About the lesson

Techniques range and are fully curated depending on how you learn best, using either audio/visual or hands-on-based learning after consultation tells me how you learn best. Consultation is discounted - trying to figure out how you learn best so I can adapt my lesson plan to YOUR strengths. Provide help in: - essay writing - basic or advanced level knowledge - study skills - exam skills (will teach this regardless - drastically important) - source work - improving analysis and skills NEURODIVERGENT FRIENDLY - I recognise some children do not follow neurotypical learning patterns and I would be honoured to work with you and help you (especially considering the system does not tend to favour neurodivergence). Lesson would be about 1-2 hours depending on how much I feel you need. Probably more ramped up when leading up to exams. Tutored year 7s in reading when I was in year 11. Lessons Anyone of age doing GCSEs/A-Level. The earlier you approach the better but I will customise lesson plans if only a month before. Important note - even if you are only going for a 4/C, I will still teach you A* tactics REGARDLESS of what grade you want the higher the better.
