About Phoebe
My name is Phoebe. In my free time, I love dancing, reading, writing, and running. My favorite genres of books are sci-fi and romance. Since 8th grade, I’ve worked with WEB which is an organization to help 6th graders settle into middle school. Working with WEB for four years has greatly improved my communication skills and taught me how to work with individuals at a younger age. I’m also involved with TASSEL, which is an organization that teaches young students in Cambodia English. Having that opportunity allowed me to develop my teaching skills, especially towards English and learning how to teach online to a classroom of students who were learning English as a second language.

I plan to tutor students on anything they need help with or teach English at their appropriate level. We’ll have a brief conversation to see where they’re at and what they’d like to work or need help on. If there aren’t any questions with their current class, I’ll move ahead and start the class with phonetics if it’s necessary. After phonetics, we’ll move on to reading to which they’ll pick from the books that match their grade level and we’ll discuss the book in greater detail. They’ll learn good studying habits such as annotations and finally, we’ll move on to writing. I’ll teach them how to properly organize and format as well as write well-thought-out and concise, yet informational paragraphs and essays. We’ll end with a small chat on how they feel about the lessons and what they’d like to work on in the future.
