About Vivian

Hello! I'm so glad you came across my profile. I hope to share my passion for the culinary arts with you by introducing you to different East Asian food scenes. I grew up with food playing an important role in my family as we ate traditional foods daily and incorporated them into holidays. My parents ran a Chinese-Korean restaurant, and my grandmother cooked at home. I grew up in this food scene and helped out in the kitchen as long as I can remember. After I moved away from my home, I turned to cooking familiar recipes to cure homesickness. Since then, I have hosted various dinner parties, developed drinks menus, and shared numerous Asian recipes with friends and strangers throughout the years. I would be more than happy to share culinary traditions with you, so feel free to get in touch!

About the lesson

My lessons are structured in two to three hour blocks depending on your skill level. Depending on if it is an online or in-person course, I will send you an ingredients list or provide the ingredients. We can cover various Korean, Chinese, or Japanese recipes and add on alcohol pairings. Lessons include a rundown of cooking methods, culinary history, ingredient substitutes, and recipes. We will cover 3-5 dishes depending on what you wish to cover. My goal is to make you a more confident chef while teaching parts of my culture and food with you! Available services: - kimchi workshops - banchan (Korean side dishes) workshops - set menu lessons (enquire to decide your own menu) - private events and parties - meal preparation tips and tricks - food pairings for alcohol tasting - sweet and savoury desserts - traditional Korean, Chinese, or Japanese tea workshops I look forward to cooking with you soon!
