After changing school from the English to Scottish systems half way through A levels, my son wanted to continue with A level History in addition to his new studies. We were keen to find a tutor who could teach the full syllabus and support him with his dyslexia. Marianne not only met our expectations but so much more; from excellent communication and fast responses to well structured and comprehensive lessons, focussing on our son’s strengths and abilities. We could not recommend Marianne higher.

Marianne is an excellent tutor. My daughter was doing online school and needed help with her GCSE English. She failed her mock but ended up with a grade 7 after tuition with Marianne. She would never have achieved that without Marianne's help. Marianne knows exactly what the exam board requires and was able to focus my daughter on the best way to answer each type of question. She boosted her confidence and was very caring and supportive in her approach. I have no hesitation in recommending Marianne as a tutor.

Marianne tutored my son for 12 months leading up to his GCSE exams; he was failing his mocks but with her help he obtained an A and a B / Grade 7 and Grade 6. She offered both in person and virtual lessons which were well planned and creative.

We cannot praise Marianne highly enough! She worked miracles with our son, who is dyslexic, and helped him get a 9 and 8 in his English and History GCSEs, which we never thought possible. She is patient and encouraging and goes well beyond the call of duty by liaising regularly with his teachers so as to coordinate and complement what he is taught at school. She clearly takes a keen interest in how the child progresses and offers support outside of lessons as well. If your child is struggling with History or English then Marianne is definitely the answer!

I highly recommend Marianne as an A Level History tutor. They were instrumental in helping my daughter develop a strong process for structuring answers to exam papers. Marianne also ensured she had a comprehensive understanding of all the subject content. This combination of skills has made a significant difference in my daughter's confidence and preparation for her exams.

Marianne is a patient and caring teacher, that helps students with their weakness and strengths in English, she makes sure that before we move to another topic we understand the concepts and she has different ways of teaching the same topic to make sure that all of our skills and being tested and everyone understands it before moving on.
