My teaching method is to engage students and allow them to explore and engage in hands-on activities to learn. I also allow them to work in groups to collaborate and work through challenges and questions. I teach my students to set goals, determine an action plan, check their progress, and to celebrate their successes. I want students to take ownership in their learning to make it more relevant and metacognitive.
My lessons are planned based on student prior knowledge and academic ability. Every lesson first captures their interest, then contains an interactive and collaborative activity for instruction. The lesson ends with a summary activity to determine student learning and misconceptions. There is also normally a brief assessment task for students to prove their learning.
