About Terra
I have been the Department Chair at an International High School for the past two years. Before that, I was the Head Teacher Trainer at Toskania Kociewska in Poland and before that, I worked as a Curriculum Consultant, Teacher Trainer, Dir. of Studies, and finally, Deputy Headmistress at an English Institute in China. I teach business, economics, entrepreneurship, intermediate to advanced English, medical English, Business English, math and science. I have two teaching certificates, one for teaching in person; the master's in TESOL, and most recently, one for teaching online, as it creates new challenges for both the learner and the teacher. I also teach and tutor online in business, entrepreneurship, IELTS, PTE, OET, ESL, ELA, biology, chemistry, algebra and lower math and love it! I have also owned and operated many businesses; having led, managed and scheduled many people at a time; and I am extremely creative and can usually come up with pretty innovative ways to teach and help people. I have written and trained teachers and staff in both a life skills curriculum back in the states and in the academic English and STEAM curricula in the Institute in China. I am a dynamic, hard-working, loyal person who people easily gravitate toward. I am the type of boss that won't ask of others what I wouldn't do myself, and hold the mindset that you haven't finished something until you are proud to call it yours. Gratitude and passion are two words that define who I am. I wrote a paper on world religions in 2002 on the heels of 911, and that paper was published by Harvard. I have also written a couple of books, and I have a plethora of teaching aids and materials at my disposal. I have a very passionate personality, LOVE to laugh and to make others laugh, and I am always positive! My educational philosophy is edutainment, so learning while being entertained. A typical first lesson is only 30 minutes, a goal setting/right-fit session. We both ask questions, get to know each other, and mutually decide if we would like to work together. If it is mutually agreed, the next step is a lesson plan is drawn up, and after that, we get to work!
