About Jacob
I am a committed Spanish tutor with 12 years of teaching experience, helping high school and college students achieve their academic and personal language goals. Over the years, I have successfully taught around 150 students and have developed teaching methods that make learning both enjoyable and effective.
My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding before memorization. I encourage students to explore the language through practical conversations, grammar exercises, pronunciation practice, reading activities, listening tasks, and writing assignments. Every lesson is planned carefully to match the student's current level and future goals.
Regular assessments and constructive feedback help students measure their progress while identifying areas that need improvement. I also include Spanish culture and everyday expressions to make lessons more engaging and relevant.
Helping students improve their confidence and academic performance has been one of the greatest achievements of my career. Many learners have achieved higher examination scores and stronger communication skills through patience, practice, and continuous support.
I believe learning should always be a positive experience. My goal is to help students enjoy Spanish while building the confidence and knowledge needed for lifelong success.

My teaching philosophy combines creativity, critical thinking, mentoring, and accountability because I believe these qualities help students become successful Spanish speakers. I focus on creating lessons that are practical, engaging, and enjoyable while helping students achieve their personal language goals.
Each lesson is planned according to the student's current level and future objectives. I include conversations, storytelling, role plays, pronunciation practice, games, videos, reading activities, listening exercises, and writing practice to strengthen speaking, listening, reading, and writing together.
Critical thinking is encouraged by helping students understand grammar through guided discovery, recognize vocabulary in context, and build meaningful sentences using their own ideas. This approach develops confidence and supports independent learning.
As a mentor, I provide patient guidance, positive encouragement, and constructive feedback. I believe every learner progresses differently, so I adapt my teaching methods while motivating students to continue improving with confidence.
Accountability is maintained through structured lesson plans, realistic goals, regular revision, progress reviews, practical assignments, and personalized feedback that encourages continuous improvement.
Besides Spanish, I teach grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary development, conversation practice, reading comprehension, writing, listening skills, travel Spanish, beginner Spanish, DELE preparation, and Hispanic culture. My goal is to prepare students to communicate confidently in school, work, travel, and everyday situations.
