I recognize that every learner grasps ideas and concepts in a unique and different way. I plan to utilize a combination of approaches tailored to the needs and levels of the student. I plan to keep lessons interactive and engaging to maintain student interest.
Example Lesson Plan:
1. Warm-up: Review prior week's session topics. Have student complete a short worksheet summarizing main points and ideas.
2. Introduce the lesson for the day
3. Grammar Focus - practice with examples; provide a worksheet with sentences where students need to fill in the blank with the correct word
4. Spelling Practice - student spells a word and uses it in a sentence for a more conversation-based portion of the session.
5. Reading Comprehension - Have the student read a short story out loud and then have comprehension questions to test understanding.
6. Wrap-Up and Review: Summarize the lesson's main points on grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension. Assign a short writing task for homework.
Lessons can be for Pre-K students-8th graders.
