About Avesha
I love learning and consider myself a continuous student of life. Not only does tutoring help the student, but as a teacher, I learn a lot as well. I believe this feeling of sharing helps eradicate the sense of obligation and boredom in the classroom, and allows the student to become more forthcoming and confident in their own knowledge. I have 8+ years teaching ESL, and 15+ years working with kids of all grade levels as a private tutor, caregiver, and substitute teacher. I am a fine arts major (lithography, oil paints, and drawing with some graphic design as well). I am a yoga teacher and meditation practitioner, and offer my knowledge in natural medicine and healthy cooking.

I bring dynamic games and lessons to integrate enthusiasm and interest in learning, especially when students struggle with a certain subject. Kids and adults alike love integrating fun projects that orient their material into simple and applicable every-day life activities. With 10+ years as an organizer for a meditation center, I incorporate positive reinforcement and personalized lesson plans with an attention to help each student develop the proper skills to learn better, understand the why's, and deepen comprehension, instead of rote memorization.
