About Carlijne
I am currently doing a Researchmaster Philosophy at Radboud University and I have completed a bachelor's degree in philosophy. I have a lot of philosophical knowledge: both of the history of philosophy and contemporary philosophy. In high school, I studied philosophy as a subject. So I know what it is like to suddenly come across philosophy as a teenager. Currently I tutor students for their school exams in philosophy, (in dutch: havo and vwo). In my spare time, I do volunteer work where I give lectures about philosophy to seniors for the foundation Oud Geleerd Jong Gedaan. So, I not experience teaching all ages. Philosophy is for everyone!

I believe in learning philsophy by starting the conversation. Philosophizing is a skill that you must train by doing it. Philosophy can sometimes seem very vague. My answer to that is: philosophy tries to make things that are very vague less vague. I do this by applying philosophy to problems in today's society, so that you suddenly start recognizing philosophical problems all around you. Most of the crazy philosophers of a long time ago are still relevant: for example, with the help of the Greek philosopher Plato, we can understand the problems in our current democracy.
