About Axel

I am currently a student at Radboud University. I'm doing a double bachelor's degree in Mathematics & Physics and Astronomy.
Although I have not tutored through this platform before, I have tutored acquaintances in the past. In addition, friends regularly come to me for help when they do not understand something.

About the lesson

I think it is very important in tutoring to adapt the focus of the lesson to the needs of the student. I will first have a conversation and try to find out where exactly the student gets stuck.
In addition, I try to estimate which way of teaching works best for the student. This is of course different per person.

So my teaching technique will be different depending on what the student likes, but my explanations will usually focus on explaining why something is the way it is, rather than just telling you how to do something. In my opinion, schools pay too little attention to this. In my experience, math becomes much easier when you understand why something happens a certain way. In doing so, I try to ensure that the student will not only know how to solve certain problems, but also learns how to tackle other, but similar, problems.

Perfect! Axel is zeer kundig in wis- en natuurkunde. Indien nodig zoekt hij uit welke manier van uitleggen het best bij mijn dochter (havo3) past.

Axel is net, stipt op tijd, duidelijke afspraken, goede en snelle communicatie.

It's amazing, how Axel managed to explain concepts of mathematics to me in English. Not only the fact that he can teach in a second language, but also the clarity of his explanation make him a good teacher. I was especially happy about his way of working all unclarities out, step by step, so that I could follow. Besides that he is always keen to solve problems and he happily as well as effortlessly answers his friends' questions.
