About Giulia
I attained my Master’s Degree with honours in Chemical Sciences from the University of Catania (Italy) in 2021, presenting a thesis on the development of hydrogels for plant disease management in organic agriculture. My research interest arose from my experience in the ISAB refinery (Lukoil) in Priolo Gargallo, and constituted the subject of my Bachelor’s thesis in which I validated an analytical method to determine BTEX in refinery wastewater.
At present, I am a PhD student in Materials Science and Nanotechnology (XXXVII cycle) at the University of Catania. My PhD research project focuses on the development of polymer-based photo-oxidative nanocomposite deposited on cement substrates to be used for BTEX abatement.
