About Olivia
Hi, I’m Liv, a History student at Royal Holloway, University of London.
I have a strong interest in modern and European history, and I enjoy helping others understand and engage with the subject. Through my degree, I’ve developed clear essay-writing skills and a solid understanding of how to structure high-quality answers.
Alongside my studies, I work in a customer-facing role where I regularly communicate with large groups of people, which has helped me become confident, clear, and approachable in the way I explain things.
I understand that History can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to remembering content and writing essays under time pressure. I aim to make lessons calm, supportive, and easy to follow, helping students build both their understanding and their confidence.
I’m patient, friendly, and committed to helping each student improve at their own pace.

My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs.
I begin by understanding what the student is currently studying and where they feel less confident. From there, I focus on building a strong understanding of key topics while also developing essential exam skills.
A typical lesson includes:
- A short recap of previous learning
- Clear explanation of a topic or concept
- Practice with exam-style questions
- Detailed feedback with specific ways to improve
I place a strong emphasis on essay writing, exam technique, and structuring answers clearly, as these are key to achieving higher grades in History.
My teaching style is patient and encouraging. I aim to build confidence as well as knowledge, so students feel more prepared and less stressed going into exams.
